OT: for IPA lovers = 10 best

I live near a lot of good IPA, but have been stuck on Lagunitas for quite some time with Racer 5 a close second.

When talking about IPAs, here is my quick Top list:
1. Pliny the Younger
2. Pliny the Elder
3. Surly Abrasive
4. Heady Topper
5. Hopslam
6. Sculpin

Of course, just my opinion and assuming all are reasonably fresh.

Love IPA's, the hoppier the better. Lots of good local brews in Tacoma/Seattle area.

IPA people, drink the above and enjoy. It's all good. Amazes me how you have to enter your MM/DD/YEAR to look at a beer manufacturer's website, but pot is legal.

Goose Island and Dale's FTW.

I spent 7 years ( 98-04 ) building houses in Healdsburg and had a few lunches at their brewery. Racer 5 is one of my favorites.

That list is strangely slanted to California. Looking east, consideration should be given to Jack's Abby for Kiwi Rising and Hoponius Union; Maine Brewing Company (Lunch), the Alchemist (Heady Topper) and Lawson's Finest Liquids (Double Sunshine) in Vermont; and the Smuttynose staple, Finest Kind IPA, from New Hampshire.

Love me some Bell's. Never had a Russian River, but Lagunitas is a fine standby, and usually available around the country. Had a Tricerahops (can't remember the brewery) a couple weeks ago that was nice.... Dales Pale Ale (Oscar Blues) is a fine, hoppy brew, though not labelled an IPA. Salt Lake City's (not kidding) Epic brewery has "Spiral Jetty IPA" that is excellent. So much good beer to sample...

Tricerahops is from Ninkasi in Eugene, OR, it is a double IPA, so no wonder you can't remember.

I agree that the list seems California-centric, but Sculpin, SN Torpedo and Racer 5 should make any list. Other good staples would be Terminal Gravity and Ninkasi's IPA.

The list excludes double IPA's, but Stone "Enjoy By" IPA's should make any top 5 double IPA list.

Pretty good list right there.

Bells always get my $ when given the option because of their bike team.

Snoqualmie Falls Wildcat IPA is on top of my list. Just edging out the Ninkasi Total Domination.

Oooooh, here's a thread I can get behind!
My "comfort food" of beer is Harpoon IPA, but some other favorites are Dogfishhead 60-min (and 90, etc), Uinta Hop Notch, Great Divide Titan IPA, and Harpoon Rye IPA.
MMmmmm, I love me some IPA.

Some good (and some unicorn) single and double suggestions so far. Stone Ruination, Coronado Idiot, Firestone Walker Union Jack and Double Jack, Bell's Two-Hearted are a few more personal favorites. Oh, and Dogfish Head 90 minute. And Sixpoint Resin.
