Saw it, really enjoyed it from start to finish.

Did Phil and his buddy he really ride all those stages back to back? If so, I'm so impressed.

Yes, there were a couple of rest days that coincided with the actual 1928 tour schedule but as Phil says in his blog, they were anything but restful with all of the other behind-the-scenes things that needed attention but were neglected due to the amount of time spent riding. The only thing they weren't able to do was to finish in whatever daily time limits there would've been. They often times finished far into the night or into the next day.

It was a very enjoyable film to watch with several funny moments sprinkled in. I would've liked to have had a closer look at some of the more difficult days, the 200+ mile, 20,000 feet of climbing day in particular. What an effort! I have much respect for Phil and his riding partner!

Here's a link to his blog.

An interview with Phil about the documentary/film that's worth your time (at least the first half of it).

Phil Keoghan was interviewed by Lance Armstrong on Lance’s “The Forward” podcast last week. Phil has led a very interesting life, and there was a great discussion of the movie and some of the stats of what happened in 1928. I look forward to seeing it when available.

Are you sure you're not seeing one of his other titles?

It was interesting, but for me, that was about it. I thought it was a cycling attempt at Ewan McGregor's and Charley Boorman's Long Way Down/Long Way Round series. But it wasn't nearly as funny or entertaining. ymmv

I DO look forward to MAMIL!

Phil Keoghan has two films: "The Ride" and "Le Ride." The one we're talking about in this thread is "Le Ride," about the 1928 Tour re-creation. The one on Amazon is "The Ride," which is about Phil's ride across the U.S.

So in other words, not on Amazon (yet). Not on iTunes in U.S. either (yet).
