Man, you guys really hate bike "improvements". Regardless of whether BB30 or PF30 are easier to produce or not, 30mm spindles and bearings contained within a 68mm width shell make for lighter, slimmer cranks. Same idea as threadless 1 1/8" steerers.

You might personally not care about ankle clearance or weight, but then you might not care about 11 speed, double pivot brakes or any shifter since retrofriction. PF30 isn't just some scam.

Perhaps it's because many "improvements" are anything but....they are just changes to make it easier/cheaper for the companies who mass produce bikes.
