Samuel adams utopias/$200 a bottle beer
Is it even beer anymore? Not carbonated and 28% abv served by the ounce?? Now it just sounds like bad vodka.

It's not like any beer you drink, no. Like vodka? No.

I’ve had this a few times, and it’s certainly interesting. Best sipped like a whisky. It’s sweet and syrupy, but you can certainly tell it’s beer-based and boozy!. Fun bottle too, great for sharing and impressing beer nerd friends.

yeah, i would think definitely a conversationally drink. that being said i think that jim koch, with his love of beer, would make this something special.

Not a fan of Sam Adams and I dislike sweet, high alcohol "beer"

Take one down and pass it around - now they're $201 bottles of beer on the wall.
The old scarcity pricing drinking game...

i had a sip of some at a sam adams holiday event years ago, it was certainly a very unique taste. definitely wouldnt call it beer-like as others have noted, but there there is nothing wrong with that.
will i be buying a bottle? nope. but i do respect any company that creates projects for itself in the name of pushing the boundaries of their industry. |

Last year we bought a bottle of it for the boss. My idea. It was the year Ohio lifted the alcohol limit on beers. Worked out real well when 20 people get together and only have to contribute $10 each.
He was quite surprised! |
