Some wheels, bars, and other stuff I've accumulated also on the chopping block.

I was planning on bringing everything back to Canada and selling stuff there but if there's a convenient sale in Germany I'd consider it.
Good idea. They are discerning customers, they like american bikes and have the cash to pay for quality

Thanks for that, will be posting some stuff there shortly.

Probably a good thing I didn't discover that site 3 years ago.

Thanks to both of you. I’ll post an update if I use my emerging German skills and find another one that’s good.

Nothing comes close to the paceline but here's another site:
https://www.rennrad-news.de/news/
Kind of sister site to the biggest German mountain bike site
https://www.mtb-news.de/
which has a cool section for vintage mountain bikes:
https://www.mtb-news.de/forum/f/classic-bikes.46/

the weight weenies site by starbike features also nice bikes but is as the name already suggests pretty obsessed with shaving off grams...

Don't worry, that one is last on the list to go because it's getting ridden the most!

Germans take technical obssessions to another level.
Their vintage mtb rebuilds are impeccable; they make everybody else look sloppy and careless.

Tell me about it. A lot of the bikes at the Mombat collection look sloppily assembled compared to some bikes I see on the German mtb forum.
But how cool is that? I also had 7 garage queens once in my basement.
Nothing really beats riding bikes, hoarding and building are funny substitute acts
IMHO. Ab dafür!

Regarding weight weenies forum, I find there are some very knowledgeable cyclists there, like here. I value forums where I can come to know and rely on those posting for sound advice.

True that. Some builders are also active there like Jure Berk.

Is the buy/sell marketplace as trustworthy and functioning as PL? Thanks

This is true for most forums, what also is true is that there is no way around being there for a bit of time to find out who knows what she/he's talking about.

I found the german Tour Forum to be the most competent over the years, some very knowledgeable people there. But i haven't bewen there much the last few years and a few stalwarts have vanished or reuced their posting frequency.

RE: weightweenies, I've been on that forum for 11 years. This one for only a few.

WW seems to be the domain of a lot of "racerboi" types arguing over which $10k bike or $4k wheels are superior. Very little in the way of restorations, classics, rebuilds or any type of riding other than thinking they're pro's. And some very strange decisions by mods recently as far as bans and censorship. Classifieds are basically nonexistent and the weights registry is woefully out of date.

Personally I've moved away from there, as apparently have many, but YMMV.

Edit: In fact, only a few months ago, a long-time moderator on WW by the name of 'Juanmoretime' committed online Harakiri in protest and took all his posts with him. Thousands of posts, gone. Prior to that, a poster who was revered for his Campagnolo and Colnago knowledge, Calnago, sadly passed away. He had the most detailed build threads you've ever seen and I believe he used to post in here too from time to time. A lot of quality lost in a short space of time.
