+1 for the civia emersons.
Perfect shape although not the stiffest bars out there |

The 26.0mm Soma hwy one is a great bar for the money, it's exactly same profile as 3ttt ergonova that cost twice as much.
Plenty stiff enough, shiny and very comfortable with my 10 speed Campagnolo. I'm even thinking of replacing my 26.4mm Cinelli Giro ditlaia on my classic Puch. Once I went compact, deep drop bars make me avoid riding in the drops. |

Nice pictures, I dont know that much about handlebars because I got lucky to find the ones I like right away. So haven't get too deep onto handlebars and some info here looks super solid.
The only problem is that some stuff is not available even used like the Nitto ones. One thing for sure, to me at least is easier to go over the pedals (control wise) when the levers are upper, that's the other reason I'm asking about the ergo type of handlebars. Notice some carbon ones from easton, they did work?? or are weak due to the tube diameter? any experiences? |

Have you looked at Nitto 178 (Rivendell's bend)?

They started with carbon this year I think. But road STI stuff they have been producing it for a while now, the issue is that are hard to find even used.

Thanks... saw them but you add shipping and then you get US pricing... dont have 150 bucks (at least now) for one of those nitto handlebars :/

syntace racelite
I've had a 26.0 pair of racelites on a LOOK. They have a bit flex when pulling on the drops not enough to slow your sprint, but its there.

Lots of the Nitto stuff is available in the US, but you sometimes need an actual shop to get it for you. I sell a decent amount of Nitto, including the ones I showed. You don't always need to go directly to a Japanese source.
I do use a fair number of the Soma bars, too. Pretty nice for the money. |

Re: 26.0 anatomic compact handlebars question
Funny...I just bought shallow drop compact bars in 26.0 clamp size...I just got home from my ride this morning. .and they're on my front porch...Thank you Canada Post.
These are Civia Emerson bars.. only $38 from Niagara Cycle. http://www.niagaracycle.com/categori...0-clamp-silver I ordered them because I want to change from a threadless adapter back to a quill and 26.0 bars on my Pinarello Vuelta but I had a hard time finding a modern bar in that size so I thought I would try these. I don't know how they are yet. ..but they look good for the price. |

At the risk of thread jacking, anyone know what size and type tires are on the bike pictured earlier in the thread? |
