Saddlebag that will mount Varia

I like small bags that don't rattle around, basic stuff tube, tool, emergency food. Want to mount a Varia simple and securely. Assume I need a bag with rubber on back that will slip a reflector, then buy 3rd party mount. Other ideas or what would be a decent looking bag and not make my FF look ok?

Varia mount

I use a Fizik saddle which has a pop out section that will fit a Garmin Varia light mount. Works great! Got the mount from BUPLABS.com. They make mounts for different saddles also.
They also makes tethers for the light.

I DIYed on a couple of bags. Had some of the quarter turn o-ring mounts for garmin head units lying about so I cut a piece of pvc pipe, split it in half, put it over the bag strap and o-ringed it in place. Works pretty well and can even do a little tilt up/down adjustment. Used a piece of split bamboo on an old canvas bag that I like a little better.

This sounds like it deserves a picture here.

I drilled two holes in the back panel and used the two screws from the garmin mount to install it.

You could go low profile and put the Garmin on the seat post, like this:

The advantage is the more rigid mount (as designed) for the Varia.

That saddle bag is a low-profile Ornot:

I ended up ordering one of these from Bup Labs:

I'm hoping that it will clear my saddle bag (not planning on attaching the tether—the extended brace and rubber band already add more security than the standard Garmin mount). To the OP, it's a much sturdier attachment than attaching to a bag.

It appears I have beaten several of you to the punch.

Bup Labs finally re-stocked the Fizik mount (NB: they have a few other styles of saddle mount), so I just got this and a Varia in yesterday. My Silca tool roll fits pretty snugly. The Varia will obviously block your access to your stuff on most saddle bags.

On the road, the mount does seem secure. The Fizik mount wedges pretty firmly in the slot, and Bup supplies a bolt to lock it in. I haven't taken it off-road yet, although I should be able to before the year is out.

Not related to the topic of mounts, but the one issue I had was that my Elemnt Bolt lost connection with the Varia 3-4 times on my ride today. It almost always reconnected without me having to do anything, however. The one time it didn't reconnect, I was fiddling with the Varia to try to get it into pairing mode and I turned it off accidentally, so I would give the system a pass on that score. I'll be testing this with my Roam soon enough.

Anyway, I have all of 70mm of seatpost showing. I have no ability to mount the Varia normally on the post plus mount my current tool roll. The flat Ornot bag or a similar one might work, but it would be a tight squeeze. Garmin does require the bottom of the Varia to clear your tire.
