Stupid pedal questions

How do you tell whether a pedal takes Delta or Keo cleats? Are there other knockoffs of these or did Look manage to license this design well enough to have most things be under this?

Are SPD-SL pedals only made by shimano? Seems weird to me that SPD is so popular, then for 3 bolt everything not made by shimano is only Look cleats.

It can be difficult to know which cleats a pedal take just looking at it. SPD SL knock-offs do exist from other brands like VP and Wellgo I believe but they are manufacturers anyway.

You can find SL pedals pretty cheap if you look.
