CK Prebuilt Wheelsets

I'm looking for some opinions on the CK pre-built wheel options. Considering the Alloy Ride set built with HED Plus 25mm and R45s. These will be used year round, tubeless likely. I'm about 200 lbs and do a fair amount of climbing.

Besides the CK premium, are there any downsides to this deal?

Isn't the Belgium a heavier version of the c2 rim? That would bother me, but I'm 155#. Sounds like a great setup to me.

Sounds like a good deal. That price is how much everything would cost if you bought the parts separately and built them yourself.

The Alloy Ride Sprint uses a cheaper rim and four fewer spokes than the Alloy Ride yet is $115 more ? Am I missing something ?

the "c2" (as far as i know) is just what HED calls their 23mm rim tech.

the belgium "+" is a wider (and heavier) version of the belgium.

the "ardennes" name is used for HED's system wheels which (as far as i know) are built with belgium rims in lower count drillings.

just my understanding of things

My only thought is that maybe the spokes are different between the sets, with the Sprint having more expensive spokes.... that could add up to $115 if it's Sapim CX-Rays vs DT Comp, etc.

Old news, but I have a CK built CK/DT1.1 wheelset I've ridden for 6000 or so miles. Flawless performance, minimal truing required. If you like the bits, I'd buy from CK with confidence...

You can get the same wheels (except 32 spoke in the back) for a little cheaper here and there are some more options to consider: http://www.velomine.com/index.php?ma...ath=86_235_462

Got some more information:
Sprint uses 23mm HED C2 with CX Rays.
Ride uses 25mm HED C2 Plus with Sapim Race.

I'm more interested in the 25 mm wheel since I run 28c. Should I be concerned about spokes? Pretty sure they won't mind changing the spec if I specify spokes and pay.

Yeah you should be able to get the spoke count you want from VeloMine. They have been quite amicable in the past.

Nothing against VM but CM made wheels fall into a different category imho.

ergott built me a set of wheels for right around that price earlier this year. Chris King R45 Disc hubs, Pacenti SL23 Hoops, Sapim spokes. Without the cost of disc hubs, he could probably be cheaper.
