That could be true, but the worst mosquito hordes I've ever encountered were in Madison. Not as large as those in Alaska, but much more aggressive. We couldn't get from our friend's house to the car without losing a couple of pints of blood. Maybe it was just a particularly bad year, but it definitely colored my vision of an otherwise really cool city.
