I did "meh"

15th of 89 on day one
20th of 61 on day two - LOTS of dudes on day two did NOT ride day one, though. Bastards. Plus I was solo day 2.

Finished in breakaway groups on both days, though.. still early season, the fields scatter pretty good.

But I've done almost no pre-season training. I'm sure I'll get it back by mid-season.

Nothing wrong with that...making the breakaway group is always a nice accomplishment. It looks like a fun place to race!

oops. chasing groups* - and even "chasing group" might be too cool a word for the semi-cohesive bands of smoked riders between the peloton and breakaway.

lead groups consisted of dudes that are gonna be 1/2s by next week. Can't believe how strong those guys were. GC winner of my field won both days, and the podium looked about the same both days. Definitely rode through the winter.

I dropped off the front early on day one, held on a lot longer on day 2 but faltered again just before the top of 1 of 2 climbs on day 2, and spent the balance of both days just holding position.

Chucked the guy in the middle a spare jersey I had and we took him on his first road bike ride (been riding an SS track bike) on my serotta. Needless to say, I think he's picked up the road bike bug 😉
