It sounds like we have similar foot profiles.

My feet are so wide that I often have to size up half to one full size to get a shoe to fit me. I end up having a toe box that has mostly air in it but I cant get my wide feet to squeeze into the smaller shoe (except for certain shoes)

If this sounds like you, sidi dominators in wide work well and surprisingly the specialized recon fit me well, Ive noticed that spec shoes seem to fit the best as I have spec road shoes as well that work.

I had the more casual Pearl Izumi X-Alp Enduro IV for a while, before I went looking for a bit stiffer sole which I found the Terraduro had. However the Terraduro was a little narrow across mid-foot.
