7 MESH Mission Jacket

Anyone riding in the newest Mission Jacket from 7 MESH?

I just dont understand why a jacket like this is only available in black.

Assuming that when one needs a rain jacket, visibility is compromised already.

I dont necessarily demand day-glow orange, but these days I want my outer layers to be pretty bright and noticeable. Give drivers the best chance of seeing me.

It also looks pretty damned expensive for a packable shell.

But no, never tried one, so my comments are worth about what you paid for them

Luckily running jackets are colorful, well vented and still semi-reasonably priced, so they can serve double duty off & on the bike.

Dislike the color and price. $350 is bonkers when a plastic mesh rain jacket will do the same for maybe 20-30 dollars.

Genuinely curious what you do care about then because it looks like any other black cycling rain jacket. There is no technology or jacket that exists that will keep you dry on the inside and outside at the same time. So therefore it comes down to style, fit and brand IMO. I think that one doesn’t look very nice and would get an Assos.

Trim fit, lightweight and modicum of H20 proof and breathability. Shakedry like if you will.

"most" all my winter miles are commuting or zone 1/2 type riding.

I run hella lights and I am beyond visible. If I get creamed on the road a yellow jacket ain't gonna help. I'm also rather reflective and wear orange and or white helmets.

I'll put you down for a no.

If cost is immaterial you could buy half a dozen models and try 'em on.

What's odd about it?

Size and color are just two metrics.

I'm curious about overall fit/breathability/durability to name a few. Yes I can and might order every size and color of ea. model of jacket 7Mesh makes and then return most of it.

I wasn't trying to impress anyone but I also didn't ask if people thought it was too expensive I asked if anyone owned it and how they liked it.

Any chance you own one?

I would be interested to hear about this jacket also. I commute every day. I have been really liking the Castelli ROS Alpha jacket. Gore Infinium material and Polartec Alpha liner. Very trim fit. The 7 Mesh jacket may not fit in a jersey pocket but I am sure it would fit in my Osprey backpack.

Yep

It's all fun and games around here but I am actually curious if anyone has experience with this jacket. Our needs seem to be rather similar, so if I get one I'll add some thoughts about it here.

So not this jacket specifically but for my damp winter base type miles I’ve gone from an Assos SturmprinzEvo (AMAZING), to a Shakedry (fine,but better for spring), to an Assos RS.Rain (it’s fine), to a Q36.5 Rain Jacket X that is a perfect blend of the shakedry and sturmprinz.

Can’t speak to the 7Mesh but for a similar situation, I would get the Q36.5 as it’s just as breathable while keeping you dry as the Sturmprinz and packs better. Plus the Collar is PERFECT for covering your neck without pressure..
