too much negativity in this thread!

i embrace this news as absolutely positive. it is literally what i have been patiently hoping for and i didnt think it would happen and now it seems it will. lower gear range chainrings.

i am beyond happy to hear this.

of course there is always a band of negative nellys. campy is bad, campy lost its way, campy is ugly now that it isnt silver, blah blah blah.

i am personally rejoicing, and ready to buy a crankset!

Could they make a modern rear derailleur with the museum look of just the body of a 1970's Record?

I've never suffered in any way on a ride due to the appearance or aesthetics of any of my bikes or components.

Bikes are for the riding.

For some people like me, bikes are also for staring at in addition to riding. Fortunately, I happen to like how the new stuff looks. I happen to be staring at my Campy bike as I type this. I may not ride today, but I'm still enjoying looking at the bike since it reminds me that I had a good time riding it yesterday and will have a good time riding it tomorrow even if I don't ride it today.

These are just, ya know, gorgeous!!(not really)...
I was going to post other pics but figured we all know what they looked like. The DuraAce rear looks good compared to the new Campy IMO. In the end, the ride is the most important thing. Just a shame Campagnolo stuff, which always had some style, is moving away from that ethos.

Of course! Hence the smiley face.

I just love the absurdness of some people's overwhelmingly personal response to component design. It's like companies do it on purpose just to piss those people off!

LOL

Cranks will never be the same!

agreed but.... that RD is aweful looking, worst than shimano and certainly sram... that said, I will probably have one at some point and it will probably grow on me (like the new crank has) and if it works great that is #1 thing for me

Bikes are for the riding.

This is great! Now if they could just make some BORA disc wheels with wider rims for gravel tires, I’d be styling!

There are a lot of road bike frames that will probably not have enough travel on the FD mounting bracket to use a 48T big ring. If you've got a round seat tube with a clamp on FD, you should be able to make it work.

I doubt it would work with my Colnago C-RS, but the gear ratios would be great. A bit more top gear than a 50/12 and a little more low gear with the 32/32.

I've recently found a 7 mile climb that I can't do at the moment, with my 34/32. An extra 2 teeth isn't much, but it can't hurt.

They do make Boras 35 and 50 in disc:

They are ‘moving away from that ‘ethos’? Yee gads, another other Latin ya want to throw in there. You forgot, InMyHumbleOpinion...it’s a shame sram and shimano biggest end stuff looks like plastic 4000 series stuff—>IMHO.
