I forgot how nice new bar tape can be

I've been using Handlebra for years and the stuff wears like iron. I figured I'd swap out to some Zipp Service Course with a bit of padding and see how that worked.

I like it. Will see how well it wears. But the extra padding is nice.

That zipp service course stuff has become my favorite stuff, now have it on a couple bikes its that good. Very cushy, very grippy and love that has silicone and not tape underneath it.

The silicone is nice. I'm going to have to get some more for my backup bike and the gravel bike I can never seem to finish.

Agreed. I like that service course stuff from Zipp. Use it quite a bit for customers.

Putting new tape on my bike in a couple weeks - going to relocate w/ the bike to Atlanta sometime in May, so probably will wait until after the drive. Supacaz velvet tape. Interested to see how it is. Kind of a fuzzy rubbery feeling. Smells like though

I have never tried Zipp tape but my LBS recommended supacaz tape and it is my new fav. I have another bike that needs new tape and will give it a shot.

Sinyard's son started the Co. Cool kid cred but IMO it doesn't last long enough for me.

No harm

Still a Fizik fan but I’m in full agreement about how good new tape and new socks feel. I will investigate Zipp tape.

when i renew i feel best with two layers on the tops

and a layer of Fizik gel under those. For my hands, more cush, more better:

I picked up some of the white to black fade to try on my litespeed because it matched my color scheme. The white portion stained permanently within two rides which was extremely disappointing. They do have good customer service if you’re able to actually get in touch with someone. They sent me a new set in a different color for free. It’s pretty decent, stretches acceptably over my oddly shaped cinelli neo morphe bars, good grip, decent padding. Really nice end caps. I’ll pronably try out the zipp stuff when it’s time for replacement.

New bar tape is nice, but nothing beats a new chain.

Old School: I still love standard Cinelli cork, but with a thin layer of hockey tape underneath.
