De Rosa Primato - Value?

Yes, it’s a bit of a hodgepodge of Campagnolo. The basic gruppo is Athena 11 speed circa 2007-ish. The right Centaur 10 speed shifter had the shift body replaced with an 11 speed body. The Deltas are 5th gen-I think and really limit the tire sizes you can run. The TB14 rims (old potatoe) have really nice Record 10 hubs.

The headbadge is an actual badge that De Rosa did a re-issue on for their Nuevo Classico’s circa 2014-ish I beleive.

It would be easy to sell all of the components including the seatpost and stem/bars, I’m not worried about any of that.

The frame and fork look better than anything that De Rosa could paint and chrome. The paint has been really durable and Joe’s attention to detail is evident through out.

If I keep the bike and 5 years go by I think the market gets smaller for it as guys who know continue to get older. In a way it would be great to sell to someone who loves the bike and puts a bunch of miles on it. Even if I had some regrets.

Beautiful bike. I have no doubt it will be snapped up at any reasonable price.

My first road was a Trek 2300 and when I decided that I loved the sport, I bought a Ferrari red De Rosa SLX. I sold it to finance a CarbonFrames (Calfee) largely because I was a huge LeMond fan, but I regret letting go of the De Rosa.

The only thing 'vintage' or 'period correct' on that DeRoas are the brakes...the rest IS a modern Campag groupset.

They really are.

From today’s ride. Only 37° with some stiff northwest wind, but even so this bike set the world on fire.
