I can see a head tube extender if you can get it to match the appearance of the frame. Or maybe if the extender is black and you have a black headset.
Did this like 10 years ago. I'd just rather the stem angle follow TT slope, personal preference. Up rise stem on road bike is a bridge too far for me, YMMV.

Controltech also make a riser bar with 20mm of rise.
I recently installed a 31.8mm Hover bar and it made all the difference. However, I now need a 1" clamp size riser bar to go in a quill stem, preferably short reach and short drop. Anyone know of candidates?

For a bike that uses a quill stem, why not just go with a Nitto Technomic?

The current quill has a riser top stem, the Nitto has a negative rise, making the amount of quill exposed, er, dramatic to get the bar the right height. While the current quill gets almost there, and has a lot of quill exposed already, I need a bit more, say 1"-ish. Rather get it with the bars than more quill.

Got it. Could you use one of the Nitto "dirt drop" style riser quill stems, or do you not like the look of them?

Here's a link to my original thread with photos of the Vamoots back in the day (over ten years ago) and more updated:
https://forums.thepaceline.net/showt...=moots+vamoots

Tried to just attach a photo from that thread, but wasn't sure how to do that!

Thanks, that's basically the quill I have, not sure of brand, and I can extend quill up to desired height, but it looks real wonky. That's why I'm trying to find a bar that helps blend the eyesore.

Thanks for the tech help mhespenheide! If you don't mind, how did you do that?

When you're in the old thread, right-click (on PC) or control-click (on Mac) on the image. You should get a pop-up menu. One of the options of the pop-up menu should be "copy image link" or "copy image URL". Click that.

Then, in the new thread, if you're in the expanded comment box, one of the icons above the text field should be a yellow square icon (with "mountains" inside the square). Click on that icon, which is "insert image". That should open up a pop-up box asking for the image URL. Paste in the URL that you copied from the old thread, then click on "OK".

It's more complicated to type up than actually do!

The HT extender in that first shot is the nicest example I have ever seen! I have he Spec Hover Bars on my gravel bike and I really like them.
