I was approached by cdavis9697 in regard to a WTB thread. Zero posts, and when I looked at his profile all his activity was on WTB threads (it showed him jumping around a few random ones as I refreshed).
Seemed dodgy. |

This wouldn't be an issue if we could all agree that the standard method of payment was the default and that asking for F/F payments was only something done between people that really trust one another. Instead F/F payments seem to be the default here and creates a point of negotiation/tension to ask for your payment to be protected. There are many of forums/marketplaces where you can get banned for even suggesting F/F payments.
I just went through a huge hassle where a friend sent me money via Venmo but had my username one digit off - he was lucky that the username didn't exist but it still took many hours of BS over a few days to get it back from Venmo. It's really not a very big percentage of the transaction when compared to all the issues of not doing it that way can create. Just my two cents. |

Just sold something to someone a member since 2013, with zero posts. Not sure how that can happen, but whatever. I was selling something he wanted, he PM'd me, I asked for his paypal account and invoiced him the amount owed, which he then paid. His purchase is now in the mail.
In this case, I am hoping it has worked out. I did tell him that normally PF doesn't allow transactions to anyone w/zero posts. So yeah, took a chance and sorry if I didn't stick to the rules myself. |

HerbScores joined 4/22 and sent me a visitor message 4/23 asking me what my lowest price was for a bike I am selling. Seems fishy.
It would have been much more believable if he joined on 4/20. |
