I'm not a modern bike guy. Why would someone want to change it the original fork? In the steel vintage bike world, seeing a frame which either has a replacement fork or is missing a fork altogether is an immediate red flag.

Was maybe a carbon fork and it’s old now or original owner just wanted a steel fork. It’s paint matched ffs.

As long as the frame looks straight a steel bike probably isn’t hiding any skeletons

Medici Pro-Strada 55cm. MUSEUM-PIECE - $1575

Early 1980's PRISTINE gloss-black 55cm Medici Pro-Strada.
Handmade by Mike Howard, of California Masi fame, from Columbus SL double-butted tubing with lugs by Mario Confente.
Has fully-chromed fork and rear triangle, (rare) and Campagnolo Super Record gruppo.
This is a time-capsule example which must be seen to be appreciated.
The price is firm, due to its unique, mint ORIGINAL condition.
