Cielo Cross Classic Geometry & Other Info?

I just bought a 58cm square Cielo Cross Classic. It will take a minute to ship to me.

In the mean time, does anyone have the early documents on these Cielo's that they'd be willing to photographs or scan and send my way? I'd love a geometry sheet and any other info.

I'm deciding on what will be the right build. I'm leaving towards a single speed gravel ripped to start to take avantage of those horizontal dropouts.

Does anyone know if it's 135 or 130 in back?

Nice. I have a Cross Classic I bought from the factory in 2013 and it kicks ass.

Geometry is a bit odd on these in my opinion as they’re a bit long in the top tube vs. seat tube but it’s great if they fit you. Rear spacing is 130, and a word of caution on those horizontal dropouts… Cielo had a know issue of the rear wheel slipping in those drop outs under power. I solved it with a Hope bolt on skewer, but I know others that continued to struggle with it. So just be aware you’ll likely need to really crank down the rear wheel. Especially in a single speed application.

For the old specs, Wayback Machine will be your friend. I just checked it and there’s plenty of archived pages there for cielo.chrisking.com, including the geo table. Here’s a quick snap of that from it

Thanks for that info. Just knowing it’s 130 let’s me think about the options among wheelsets that I have.
I’ll start with a steel campy skewer and keep that hope option in mind.
I think I may need a surly snugnutt too or bolt on hubs.
How’s the ride?

Bolt on hubs would be a good option for sure. That should allow plenty of ability to cinch the wheel down so it won’t slip.

I love the ride of mine. Feels exactly like a high quality steel bike should.

Actually it’s a surly hurdy gurdy I may need. They designed it for this issue with cross checks.

I had a Sportif Classic with the horizontal droputs and a Campagnolo QR did great. No issues with the wheel slipping.

One more question for Cameron:
What's the tire capacity front and rear?

It’s in cue to build up. It was delayed by my stumbling on a new mountain bike that needed reconfiguration. I’ll get pictures out soon.

Hopefully I'm being helpful here, but the word you want here is "queue", pronounced the same as "cue". Queue is a line, usually in the sense of waiting for something.

Grammar nerd out.
