FT2: Riding jacket windproof ONLY on front, shoulders and kidneys?

Friday thread 2: I have a couple of riding jackets and neither are flexible enough for AZ weather. I've taken to riding with multiple layers and a gillet with a windproof front and mesh back. It seems a lot of the jackets I see are like the two I own; the same material throughout, and get WAY too hot.
Is there a jacket that is made of Roubaix fabric with a windproof front, shoulders and rear pocket area?

Have you looked at the Assos Blitzfeder jacket? I've got a new one listed in the classifieds.

Has large slots so you can reach into jersey pocket.

You're pretty much describing how Assos designs the windproof portions into their jackets.

May want to check the Factory Outlet for the 815 Airjack for the cold stuff, and the intermediate evo or tiburu for slightly warmer temps.

Assos intermediate sounds right and is great from 50-70. Windproof chest panel, thicker fabric on the tops of the arms, and then a summer jersey back. It does have pockets too..

The Tiburu could be a good option too but this isn't really windproof, its more of a thick fleece jersey front with a thinner rear that is good for 45-60 tops but can go lower with a shell over it.

For colder 40-60 there's also the Assos Habu which has a windproof softshell front, and gridded Roubaix fleece back...

Should also mention if your a medium, let me know. I have my Intermediate and Habu listed in the classfieds, since I need to downsize to a small.

dhb windslam

DHB (wiggle in house brand) is quite good quality and as you desire, windproof front and sleeves with a standard back of the fleece/roubaix material. 3 pockets and a waterproof zipper compartment.

If you want it to be race tight fit, order down a size.

Is that race tight over a long sleeve base layer or over skin?

Check out the Castelli Transparente. I have a couple and they work great for what you're describing.

I am 5'9" and 160 pounds. For me the medium was loose fitting, perfect as a jacket over a thermal jersey and baselayer. The small size is tighter/slimmer fitting (but not race fit tight) and works great over a long sleeve baselayer as a jersey.

Since its usually not too cold in the PNW, I just ride the tighter fitting small over a short sleeve baselayer and stay plenty warm despite the winds or rain.

I have a medium in excellent shape that I would part with. PM me if interested.

Sportful has various options that would work too.

I picked up this sort of thing ( wind proof, insulated in front, kind of mesh-y in back) from Patagonia on their latest sale. It was set up for x-c skiing. It works really well on the bike, down into the high twenties. It is long in the torso, so it covers down the back pretty well. Don’t know if it is still on the market or was a close out, but it seems to be about what the OP was envisioning.
