OT: Bruce Brown passes away
Bruce Brown, creator of ‘The Endless Summer’ and father of the surf film, has died...
http://www.theinertia.com/surf/bruce...ilms-has-died/ I'm not sure how many times I've watched 'Endless Summer', such a great film. |

On Any Sunday was my Bruce Brown movie. I was a motorcycle dealer in Hawaii when this came out. I was so moved by it I bought a couple of handfulls of tickets to it and passed them out to potential customers. The movie so well expressed the love and freedom (to me) that bikes offered, I wanted others to experience it. It did get me a couple of sales.
Bruce Browns movies were magic that way. |

He was the trials rider, right? He was just amazing as was Nixon in his quest for the #1 plate with the broken leg. I loved "On Any Sunday"!

Malcolm rode all kinds of bikes but he was REALLY good off-road. Heck, I think he's still riding in spite of some health challenges I think.

watched endless summer with one of my kids last night.
good as ever. some of the subtle dead pan humor is classic. love it! of course it's always sad when someone passes, but leaving behind classic movies that will be watched forever is a comfort.
