Nice Mavic

I know Mavic gets a lot of criticism, but wanted to chime in that i think the latest crop of UST rims and wheels are really nice, well made stuff.

up until last week, i didnt know these existed in the line-up, but when i saw a set pop up on ebay i threw a bid out there and won these. also really nice IMO and nice to have rim brake stuff still available, though again, i had not even been aware these existed.

anyone rolling on a newish set of open pro carbon rims?

Man, they look nice. It looks almost like a disc brake rim. Never knew they made these either.

Those look great! Wasn't aware either.

Trying to decide what wheels for an incoming. Those wouldn't work, but can play switchy with some other bikes.

Awesome - Happy someone has these in hand; hope you can provide us with a review. I have a set a CK hubs and was eyeing these rims for a build but couldn't find much info online. I saw them in person in Sacramento at NAHBS; impressive appearance.

Very servicable

Great to see normal nipples and hubs that don't require specials parts!

Are those tubeless ready?

I have a set but with mavics own hubs so factory complete wheels on my tommasini.

They are nice wheels imo. The brake pads gets eaten up a lot faster than normal tho (they mavic ones).

I have no complains and they are very nice looking as well.

32 hole? Nice looking wheelset.

What are the approximate rim dimensions?

Once you get some miles on them, please report back. Nice looking wheels. What hubs are those - 10 speed?

Yes. In Mavic speak; UST = tubeless

32 hole yes - i'll have to measure inside, but brake track width is 25mm, so i'll assume about 19-20 inside, but i'll take a caliper to them.

Mavic

I have a set built by Jones Precision Wheels with White Industries hubs and Wheelsmith spokes. The seem light and sturdy enough.

I kind of want a set laced to Phil hubs for a bit of neo-retro fun.

Carbon hoops with silver hubs and spokes looks so great.
