Well, the Roethlisberger era ends on a sour note.

Too bad for him, but I suppose it was his choice to play for one more year.

Last year ended with them getting crushed by the Browns at home. This was actually an improvement

True, but overall, weren't they 12-4 ? That left some room for optimism, even though it was clear to most that Ben's arm was shot.

SF/Dallas - when you're penalized at least (I lost count) 14 times in one game, you deserve to lose.

They started 11-0. Finished 1-4. They completely fell apart at the finish. The signs were pretty clear by the time that season ended. Last night was just a delayed ending.

I feel like this true for the entire weekend, maybe the extra game was just for more commercial revenue?

At least they provided new footage for two-minute drill practice.

Coach: Who sets the ball before the snap?
Center: Me!
Coach: No, the referee.

Both 7's got torched. Parity in the NFL is pretty good, but sending a team that has won just over half its game against the team that won the second most in the Conference can only be for the TV money. I know they won't, but I hope they see the silliness in adding the extra team and go back to 6 teams to open the playoffs.
Soon, it'll be like hockey where the question is who ISN'T in the playoffs?

That was one of the best plays I have seen in quite a while, tremendous awareness, great skill play, and indeed turned the momentum of the game.

Pretty disappointing weekend of playoff football, even the games that were close in score didn't feel that way for most of the time. What a dismal performance by Dallas, though I think the 49ers have a much better shot at beating Green Bay than Dallas would have.

Totally agree about the money grab of adding the extra teams, will likely see it in MLB with the next CBA.

This thread made me realize the highlights reel that google links in their scores is a much more efficient way of watching the games. They even update them during the game.

Say it aint so Bill - part two.

Bill to Brian Flores: “Sounds like you have landed — congrats!”
Flores asks: “Coach, are you talking to Brian Flores or Brian Daboll?

Bill - I f***ed up.

At least with that one it is an error many can relate to.

I think Flores’ claims are much more disturbing around the attempts to “tank/fix” games, especially since the owner in question is involved in a sports betting operation.

Did Flores get screwed by the Dolphins? It certainly sounds like it. Did Dolphins ownership set up a “blackball” scenario? Maybe. Did the league or teams follow through with it? Unclear.

I think teams have hiring preferences/target individuals all the time.

Flores seemed to be a decent coach but not all decent coaches get hired after their first loss of employment.

I think the exposure of NFL practices will be very enlightening. But I don’t think Bill B’s texting the wrong guy is the big deal here.
