Tried to give the new Greta Van Fleet a listen, but after a couple of false starts, had to go back to the 'Zepp sounding 'earlier' stuff (2026-18). Will try another day with the new stuff. Talented musicians and a (tiny) lead singer with a huge voice,,,band includes three brothers from the Detroit, MI area.

Funny, as I was just finishing my ride yesterday this song came on and it has been stuck in my head ever since.

It's really kinda crazy to look at pics of him then and now. But other folks probably say the same about me...

A wonderful 10-minute clip showing Reverend Gary Davis talking and singing, with his threadbare apartment and his Harlem neighborhood as background: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm6bBHnFfF4.

Patty Griffin, with former boyfriend Robert Plant.

Ohio

Meet me 'neath the moon, under the singing tree
If you are the first, stay there and wait for me
If no one comes by morning and the sun is a-rising red
If no one comes by morning, please forgive me, my friend
For I am dead

He's another one I really wish I had seen, even if it wasn't in his prime. The second song has some surely heavy lyrics, and the video really captures a lot. I have his "Live at the Newport Folk Festival" CD, or something similar.

Thanks for posting.

Here's a similar at home clip of the great one-legged Furry Lewis (lost it in a train accident), at home in Memphis, with Bukka White listening (and sipping).

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Professor on the drumkit

I watched a couple reaction videos to this recently. While it was entertaining to see one guy watch it with his jaw on the floor and be speechless after, it's best enjoyed without commentary.

Very sad to read that Brian Henneman is quitting the band - evidently for a life around the house. I don't know who wrote what in these two songs, but the combination of "The Kid Next Door" followed by "The Way it Used to Be" on the Lean Forward album both sound like Henneman to me, and pack a powerful emotional punch. I can't imagine that he won't continue to write great songs, even if he is fed up with touring. I'm hoping that the reunion tour isn't far off.
