photo story of my MTB playground

Just saw this on Pinkbike and while it’s some pretty verbose writing, it does have some great photos of where I get to ride.

https://m.pinkbike.com/news/photo-st...e-pacific.html

Vancouver Island is a massive land mass, so it’s not like I was trapped on a tiny speck of land, but after over a year of people being asked not to travel off the island unless necessary, I was starting to go crazy. That said, to be trapped on an Island like this one is a pretty amazing stroke of luck.

Getting my vaccine next week, so maybe in a few months, I will get to see my buddies in Vancouver and Mr Kohlboto and his family in Vernon

Very cool! My wife and I lived in Vancouver, BC for a couple of years in the early 10's but we used to go Bamfield, which is west of Port Alberni, every summer for several years. I love Vancouver island although I never had the chance to ride much there. It's seems like an awesome place to live.

Hey DD where is this place, never been there?

This was to be Canada’s largest log-burning fireplace, the centrepiece of a long-abandoned luxury resort that never saw a paying guest.

No real need to, so many great places too ride in BC, although I was there last week picking up some wheels and handlebars. Going again tomorrow to pick up some more wheels.

That Lodge at sooke potholes was going to be amazing. Although I'm glad it became part of the park.

Wow, thanks for the link. Fantastic shots. I've done two kayak trips on the island and absolutely love the place. I can think of worse places to get stuck on.
