Silver 27.2 seatpost

Riding a wonderful Stainless Soma TripleCross, with a Brooks Professional saddle, I would like to get it back just a little more.
What is the most layback possible in a silver post? Nitto S84?
I think I will just change saddle....reluctantly...

Another seatpost I've used with Brooks on my more modern setups at times has been the FSA K-Force Light SB32 Di2 Carbon Seatpost. Just throwing it out there just in case.

This is one of the SLK but on the Duell now with a Fizik saddle, you can see it has lot's of setback.



The other solution I normally opt for is to use one of the Gyes type saddles. They have several variations that match the different Brooks models but the key with the Gyes is that have longer rails to solve the setback problem so many of us run into with a Brooks.

Gyes are harder to find now but they are out there. Of course you already have your saddle so it makes sense to try and find the right seatpost first.

This is a Gyes that mimics the Brooks Swallow. You can easily see the longer rails.



Sorry I don't have any pics I can easily find of a Brooks on a long setback seatpost. Once I discovered how well the Gyes works I went with those and my Brooks sat in the parts bin.

Funny thing is I finally have the opposite problem with the Guv'nor. It's such a relaxed frame that I really need a straight or old school - setback post to get my proper fit in relation to the bottom bracket, LOL!

It's been a few years since I've searched for a silver long-setback post. I thought the Velo Orange was the most attractive of what I could find. Maybe there are some other appealing options now, I couldn't say.

That was my opinion too when I got my last one about 6 months ago. Still the nicest looking in my book.

I am not a fan of how the vo post looks but its a nice post and probably the best looking if you need the setback. Its well made. I am running it right now because need the setback since the rails on the berthouds are also quite short. I am going to hand polish my vo to a mirror finish, I think it will look much better.

I wish nitto made a post in btw the 25mm setbacks and the lugged one with 5000mm setback

If you need 5 meters of setback you probably need an adult sized bike. Also, the Paul seat post is nice for Brooks saddles.

Yeah 50mm setback is a lot for sure, but 30ish is not crazy with saddles like brooks and berthoud. The paul is an excellent post but its only 25mm setback so it might not work for these short railed saddles

Some posts boast big setback numbers but then lose some effective saddle position range because of widely-spaced upper cradle pieces.

So the actual saddle setback may not be all that great.
