Use that and p-clamps, or modify to attach to canti studs.

He's on board - dropped the front end off today. Going to try and extend/shape the strut to clear the fork and mount to the outside of the dropouts with a proper QR sized eyelet. If that doesn't end up seeming feasible, will go for brazing mounts to the fork. Probably a couple weeks, but the dad-mobile is well underway!

Sounds like the right choice.

FWIW, I have an M12 with a Wald basket and have routinely carried cases of beer with no problemo.

I used to have that same Half-Rack years ago - garbage product IMO. Glad you are improving it. You should have Wildwood braze the upper mounts too or fabricate a new yoke so you can get rid of those ridiculous P-clamps

Yeah, it definitely feels like a V1 type of item. And to be fair, the current version seems much better - adjustable, modular, etc.

I hadn't even thought about trying to re-fab the crown mount, hmmm. Maybe on a future pass!

Well improving/safety-ifying the drop-out situation like you have done is the main thing! Looks great.

How do you like working with Wildwood? I've thought about approaching him about a custom stem. His work looks pretty clean.

This is with WZRD (https://www.instagram.com/wzrd.bikes/), not Wildwood. He's been fantastic and helpful though!

I didn't notice the crown piece was held on by p clamps, that definitely would be something to change. I would be nice if the whole rack was lowered too, although you would have to be careful to keep it so it doesn't interfere with the brake straddle cable.

Is it possible to mount the Nitto M12 or something similar without a drilled fork crown? I have canti bosses... That's it.

There's a way to finagle it. Post a picture.
Have you tried using p-clamps?

It seems to me that there are racks that have the top mount at the canti bosses and struts that go to the dropouts. Are you looking for a rando rack?

I guess so? Something I can put a bag on or tie a basket to when I want to carry around something that doesn't fit well in a backpack.
