I remember watching "The Blues Brothers" as a teenager for the comedy of Belushi and Ackroyd. As I grew older and my musical tastes matured, I came to appreciate the film for the iconic musicians. Cab Calloway, John Lee Hooker, and of course Aretha. RIP for a incredibly talented lady!

It's a short walk to the Apollo from our place. We went yesterday evening.
125th Street is a surreal experience at any time but last night the heat, humidity and music made everyone a bit giddy.
People dancing and singing and enjoying themselves. I cried a little.
I'm sure she would have liked it that way.
