Titanium Bike Build (Fashion) Advice
Hey all, I am currently in the process of having Brad Bingham build me a road+ frame (or whatever you want to call it), and I am looking for some input on the component color scheme.
The frame is going to be raw titanium, paired with a black Enve fork. I am building it around the Red AXS HYRD group and a set of 'tie dye' EEwings as seen here: Since that is going to be the base of the color pop, I am trying to figure out where to go with the hubs, brakes and headset. I was originally going to shoot for either purple or blue to pull from the color on the cranks, but not sure if that would be too much. I also had thoughts of going with a black hubset with carbon rims laced with rainbow ti spokes as a more subtle match, then just using purple/blue for the recessed headset, thru axles and possibly using Hope brakes. Obviously stuff like this is a personal choice, but I figured I'd throw it out there to see what other paceliners thought. Thanks in advance! |

definitely get the hope calipers...so much better power and modulation...also dead silent
i'm a bit color blind...are the cranks blue or purple? guess is doesnt matter cuz i think the calipers come in both colors! |

I have a wheelset with rainbow anodized spokes and love how they look on my Firefly, both standing still, and looking down while riding.

Go with purple Hope calipers. For me, the purple hues on the cranks pop out more than the blue.
Rainbow Ti spokes are pretty fun, but IMO a bit much if you want subtlety. I'd stick with black spokes and play around with the nipple color (front purple/rear blue, or front purple/rear purple) or hub color (front purple/rear blue, or front purple/rear purple). |

KILLER cranks. Bravo!
So awesome. Post up some pics when you have it done. Have you seen that shop in Colorado (forget the name), they custom anodize the EE cranks? You might at least check em out before getting the factory version. Amazing designs and finishes. |

Dead and buried I hope, no end of trouble for me.. wasted way too much $$ on their half baked "engineering" (Sun, of rim fame, bought them actually)

Thanks for the input so far all, lots of good stuff to think about!
Might have to grab a pair of these King Cages from Agave: |

You might consider adding the always fashionable Cinelli Grammo Art stem though finding a threadless in the right length is pretty much needle in a haystack luck.

Q Factor
Are you sensitive to having a wider Q-factor? Those cranks are a decent amount wider than most road cranks-
Other than that they are pretty awesome. |

I couldn't unsee this darn cage and ordered one to match the wheels.
