DT Swiss 370 LN Ratchet Freehubs

So I understand that the Ratchet LN upgrade for DT 370 hubs allows the use of star ratchet instead of 3-pawl drive, but can one also swap freehubs with native star-ratchet DT hubs? i.e. can I just pull the freehub off my DT 350s or 240s and slap it on the 370 hub? Or is there a specific and different freehub body that goes with the Ratchet LN that I should use?

I'm not familiar with the "LN kit" but I sourced the parts myself and did the 3 Pawl to Ratchet swap on a Giant branded DT370 hub a while back and used a regular Ratchet freehub, didn't require any special freehub. My guess is that DT Swiss has just made it easier for you by putting all the required pieces together in a kit.

They are different. There is a larger seal on the LN freehub bodies that fit up against the hub shell. However I believe you can do what you are suggesting, if you don't mind not having a proper seal on the hub.

This article explains it well.

James Huang to the rescue - thanks for that!

As DT users with multiple wheelsets know, it's pretty convenient to just take the whole freehub, cassette attached and plop it on another wheel.

You can swap the seal over too.

BTW, I assembled a whole kit for this swap and it turns out my 370s are even older and not swappable.
Let me know if you're interested. It has the pawl-ring removal tool, the star ratchet ring install tool, the ratchet ring and washer. I also have a 18T star ratchet for the conversion.
