Tire clearance is better than I remember F8s having.

Handling is just as wonderful as ever.

Where'd you find that bad boy? I'd go back to a 59.5 F10 or F8 rim in a heartbeat.

That paint is awesome! If they were rim brake, I would be tempted to track one down...

It's a 59.5 - but I've seen plenty of F8s out there in 57.5, and F10 Disk and others.

Pinarello has a couple new models out - the "F" and the "X" - that replace the Prince and Gan..

https://granfondo-cycling.com/pinare...models-review/

Pretty solid options and well-designed/spec'd - but for the money I'd still take a lightly used or otherwise discounted Dogma over either.

These both look much more appealing and Dogma-ey than the Gan and Prince. Good move by Pinarello. I think at this point the Dogma on the downtube is essentially their S-Works, no?

I've always thought of Pinarellos as being bikes for rich folks who want to ride a high end bike but don't know anything about bikes in general, not knowing one can do MUCH better for that kinda coin.

Please don't get my (already) irrational desires flaring again.

That being said (), I have something sassy heading to this zip code in the next few months.

Kind of. You are definitely paying *a lot* for the name, but they are undeniably excellent bikes, with a unique ride feel that legitimately appeals to some people beyond the name.

I sold Dogmas almost exclusively to very rich folks for whom the purchase was a drop (okay, maybe two drops) in the bucket. These guys were weekend dabblers at best. However, this one guy who bought a frame and built it up posh tidy with fancy bits and bobs was literally about to swipe his card on a TCR Advanced Pro 0 when he said 'ya know what, let me try a Dogma, why not?'
He did, and he loved it. I know why: He was very new to cycling and the super-responsive handling of the TCR made him a little nervous. Pinarello makes a fast and stable bike --in my experience, even when you are dive-bombing into fast corners, the bike still feels planted, almost like an endurance bike. I can see how that would be very appealing to a lot of people.

Meanwhile, my very experienced racer buddy who already owns a TCR wanted an endurance bike. He got the Gan and was thrilled with it.

Yep, the fact that they are expensive doesn't take away from how good they are.. and while there is an aspect of quirky Italian styling to them and potentially dubious engineering claims, there is no denying the proof that's in the putting. Pinarello geometry just flat out works and the materials choice, design, and construction quality of the frame allows a rider to make the most of that excellent geometry.

Would I enjoy a Holland HC with the same geometry as a Dogma F8/10/12? Of course! But that's a bike only the rich can afford..

This is true. It is a grand-tour road racing bike, not a crit bike. The only other mass-market frameset I've ridden that comes close in the handling department is a Colnago (C50, C59, C60, C64).

I love my Pegoretti bikes the most - but I do love Dogmas too..

Mostly got this together, have a couple diffrent wheel and crank sets to try out still.
When I find time, have a set of Campagnolo WTO 33's to try out and I am enjoying the Infocrank Power Meter but have a set of all black Rotor 3D+ cranks which might provide the bike with a bit more consistant appearance. For now happy with it, feels fast and rides very stable and predictable.
