Your (Cycling or other) Vanity Plates and Various Musings

I'm going through various automotive issues at the moment, primarily in terms of whether to fish or cut bait on having an expensive car, and part of that has brought me to contemplate a cycling-themed vanity plate if I fish. It's not currently possible for me to see what's available since California is presently not issuing them. What cycling or other vanity plates do people here have and what's the meaning behind them?

One of my favorite vanity plates ever is TK421. The car used to always be parked in about the same spot on Pacific Coast Highway. I thought about, but never did, leave a note either asking "why aren't you at your post" or demanding "return to your post." I think most of the dorks out there will get the reference (I know you are but what am I?).

For anyone who is an expert grammarian (since I didn't look this up), should there have been a question mark within the quotation marks. If there are differing rules, I'd be most interested in what the Bluebook indicates would be appropriate. Can a question mark only be used to end a sentence?

All of this matters to me much more than the release of the Ekar group because I'm a 2x person. I'm much more interested in information about the next generation of road groups from both Campy and Shimano, but I'm not hearing much. I'd rather have an extra gear in terms of what I can spin, but an extra gear on the back might be all that I'll be getting unless I can get really motivated to "train" and that would likely take some of the fun out of riding for me.

Mine is NPLUS1. When on vacation in Yellowstone a couple years ago someone stuck a note under my wiper about the plate "Great to see another enthusiastic mathematician!" I've also had questions about the meaning of the plate from toll both attendants when traveling.

I lived in Ft Worth for a bit, and they have their own version of the weekly 'Driveway' series in Austin, at Tarrant County CC. A key performer week in, week out, was a guy whose name escapes me at the moment, but his Texas license plate was 53x11 and he was a very formidable sprinter.

Lots and f cool/clever vanity plates out there. I haven’t seen to many cycling related.

We have a be if the first Mini related plates on our 2002 Cooper S.

2 of the best I have seen were both from NH:

One was “LIVIN”

The other was “ML8-ML8” - guess what kind of car that was on....

I can relate! Bridge to Bridge in '96 or '97, 3 + hours for the first 75 miles (yes, we were hauling) and 3 + hours for the last 26 miles up the mountain!! Never got a rematch, maybe someday?!

My camper van is VANCAVE-much better than a ‘man room’
My Saab 9-3 2.0 turbo was ‘CIAO 2T’ (tutti)

Andiamo would be a good one, as would Forza or Allez...

Their are plenty of cool ones but having lived in NH I'm sick of them.

They were so cheap & easy to get there that the % of cars that had them was crazy and you just got sick of seeing them, especially the ones that looked like a joke had been played on the owner.

Clapped out old Chevy Cavalier with the plate "UWISH" or "BALLR" or "2BAD", etc..

Still.. there's a guy with NH plates who works in my office building who has the plate SATAN. Gotta give him credit.

I'm a cyclist. I live in Wisconsin.

Mine is "H8SWNTR"

Edited to add: the worst thing about having it is having people 3" off my bumper taking a picture with their cell phone.

Just retired the vanity plate MTNB1KER here in New York after owning it for more than twenty years.

Went from two cars to one, and that plate was on the car that's gone.

Plus, I got sick of the crazy premium DMV charges for it.

You know that song...well, it's not about me anymore!

Here’s mine. I’ve never had a vanity plate before, thinking they were kind of silly, but after I bought my latest car I thought this one was just too perfect for a 2008 Tesla Roadster. Of course I ordered it in February and it hasn’t been struck yet due to the pandemic.
