On a related note, I finished a beautiful ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway yesterday and then got a text from my wife that our dog killed a rat in the backyard and it was waiting for me for disposal when I got home. No pics of the rat but here’s a pic of the Parkway AND a C40:

One of these years I need to go out to the East Coast in the fall.

I would have taken the long slow route home - haha.

But yes - beautiful riding weather here.

Last fall, we saw a bobcat on the Arkansas River Trail. Of course, we regularly see many rabbits, deer, cobra chickens, hundreds of different kinds of birds including swallowtail fly catchers, Mississippi kites and a few bald eagles.

The nice thing is that the season is quite long, if you travel north to south. Leaves in upstate NY, then NJ and PA hit peak a long time ago. Leaves where I live just a smidge south in VA just hit peak this week, it seems.
If you make it down here, I'll ride purple bikes with you.

And here's a colorful one from my ride yesterday...
