Came across this thread randomly while searching for something else. Wow, what a blast from the past (on a number of levels).

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

( I guess we should update this for modernity where things on the internet are forever.)

I still like my old Blackberry. It was FAR better at being a work phone and doing work things than any other phone I have ever had. Battery life, phone signal connection, contacts, calendar, email synch and SECURE messaging. Everything except playing games and surfing the net. Other phones made better...toys. And LORD, having a keyboard with real buttons and actually reacted to touch!

I started reading this thread and thought, "What happened? Is everyone on this board 100 years old?" Then I noticed the dates on the messages.

FWIW, I wish today's smartphones weighed 3 oz or less, like the featurephones from 2007. I guess that makes me a weight weenie!

Honestly, the first few posts didn't seem out of the ordinary to me. Whenever there is something kind of new for bikes, that doesn't look exactly like a bike should, there is outrage and admonishment of the new technology. The fact that someone's PDA just died seemed to fit right in.
