Question, Campy shifter parts

Can someone show me how these fit on the shifters and what purpose they serve.

Those are what Campagnolo calls "Inserts for big hands." They are reach adjusters for the brake levers. They mount at the bottom of the back of the levers (between the levers and bars) to rotate the brake levers away from the handlebar, to make the brake levers easier to use for those with big hands. Instructions for using these inserts can be found in the Ergopower mechanical unit technical manual.

interesting.. what generations were these made for? 11s?

They first appeared for the 3rd generation (Gumby shaped) levers.

I guess that some found the 1st generation Ergo levers were too big, some found the 2nd generation levers were too small, so the 3rd generation levers could be adjusted to the riders desire.
