Restoration - 1985 Guerciotti Sprint - ALL Original Campagnolo, full refinish
This was a fun project...
All OE parts except toe straps and hoods (even the cable housings and ferules)... Full tear down, hand refinish and rebuild... Dremel, Mothers polish and a lot of different buffing heads. Time for the next one. This will move to a new home.

Wow, what a build. The white saddle/bar tape combo looks perfect here. Had one of these back in the day that I converted to fixed. Never crossed my mind to polish the lugs - incredible!

Stunning!
That inspires me to try polishing the lugs on my Vitus 979.

Yep... I even have the original Alan decal back on that was on the bike as new... Most folks tore it off.

The tires are what was on when this rolled it... They need to go, but I didn't feel like dropping the extra dollars as this will be sold. I wouldn't get the $ back for the Open Corsa cx tan tires I would put on.

Really like the beveled edge you put on the corona, looks wonderful and adds a different dimension from the sharp edged original. I have to ask what went on with the tubo orizzontale on the frame was it re-anodized or just faded at a different rate than the rest of the tubes? Going to white also brings the bike alive.
Lucky new owner!

Looks fantastic.
How long did it take? |

It needs a 110 stem. Other than that it looks ace.

The work? Dremel and pads (and a drill with buffer head) made it easier, There's probably 20-30 hours in it, but not sure because I did it a half hour or so at a time... The lugs took minutes... These bikes shine up with a dab of mothers wheel polish VERY quickly. If they have deeper scratches, that takes a buffer and a couple different rouges etc... The thing is... The old builds were MASSSIVELY simple. As long as you have the right tools, it's really quick to take things apart and put em back. IT TOOK 6 Flarking weeks to get the hoods!
