Scorching hot take.
Blaming people for how they spend their finite dollars on their hobby...oof.

Online vendors closing up shop is just an unfortunate reality of complex modern commerce.
It is kinda funny that you are blaming people for allowing an online vendor to close because they are spending money at other online vendors instead. This isnt even a brick and mortar type of complaint- its one internet vendor vs another.

Well there no way I could support my biking habit and all these fine rides if I did not use the overseas retailers for a bunch of my parts buys. When Merlin can ship me stuff in 3 days at 1/2 cost of a US vendor that takes weeks to get stuff to me there's just no reason in my book to use them.

Oh yeah! I forgot I had some excellent wheels built by them.

It wasn’t an option not too long ago and we had a whole lot more choices and better bike shops locally then not owned by specialized or trek. It is just a suggestion for debate looking at the larger picture and not just CC.

Purely an acquisition to liquidate all the inventory then shut it down. Definitely some poor business decisions made by the CEO of CC in the later years, but he had put his entire soul into the business and was a solid supporter of cycling through race teams and national events. It was good while it lasted.

They were a great company 20 to 30ish years ago back when they ran full page ads in the back of Bicycling magazine. Then during the mail order catalog phase I ordered three very high end frames from them, and several Campy component gruppos. Then something happened they seemed to focus mostly on cycling apparel and not components and frames. After that transition, I never bought anything from them. I probably haven't purchasee anything from them for 20 years. So sad to see them close, but I won't miss them at all. i moved on, and they are responsibe for their own failure. Like I said, back in the day they were outstanding!!!

I remember their catalog, but Jeez that website is horrible

Try looking for helmets... not a bike, not apparel, not an accessory, not a component. They simply don't exist in the menu (which doesn't work right on an android tablet)

Deeply in debt to various suppliers..Low inventory, COD or various suppliers have cut them off...

My former, liar and thief of a business partner worked at PC....not shedding any tears.
