Vittoria RideArmor tires.

I haven’t seen too much publicity about these tires. I got them because they were advertised (my take) as a “much faster Gatorskin.”

These are in lieu of the Vittoria Corsa Pros which ride great, look great, and are as fragile as ****. They last about as long as Michael Spinks did when he faced Mike Tyson.

One ride in and they roll great. The Oakland hills can be very punishing, so we’ll see how they hold up long term. They’re also pretty easy on the eyes, although not in the same league as the Corsa skinwalls.

Here they’re pictured on the Cielo I co-own with DDouglas.

I believe the more acceptable nomenclature is "co-parent."

I have thousands of miles in the Oakland hill on Rene Herse extralight tires without any issues. What tire trouble do you run into?

I've never considered Gatorskins that flat resistant anyway and for that reason I stopped using them, so are these Vittorias better in regard to puncture resistance? Let's face it, a goat head thorn will puncture all of these type of armored tires, even with tire liners like Mr. Tuffies.

So are these tougher than Rubino Pros? When I did year-round road riding on clinchers those were my go-to vs. the more fragile Corsas.

How many miles are you getting on Corsa's? I get about 2K and then the cuts begin to concern me.

Punctured after less than 50 miles. Once going UP Snake. Coming down Skyline toward Joaquin Miller (really very little option to get to my house) is a total effin mess.

I wonder how they compare to the Open Pave, my go to for go fast with puncture resistance? I’ll have to give them a try.

I’m with you on the Gatorskins

Wait, what?!? I can claim my bikes as dependents? OK, some of my bikes are pretty old, but they still live in my house, and I provide air for the tires, lubes for the chain, antiseize for a bunch of things, grease for many more, clean bar tape, etc.

My accountant has some splainin' to do...

Ditto.
And, XX, tan sidewalls would greatly improve the bike's appearance.
