OT Movember and prostate cancer

My Dad is a survivor and I thought that some might find the 'stache growing a bit interesting.

Last year the all of us guys put in money and raised $450 dollars for one of the ladies on staff. She was a match for a marrow donor for her sister. It helped pay for gas for her to sister who is located in the south.

She was in tears when we presented it to her and still to date loves all of us.

This year we changed Movember into Novembeard and are growing out beards. If we cannot find a staff member who needs it we will give it to one of our student families or try to spread it out to many.

My father-in-law just beat lymphoma for the second time using a progressive stem cell cloning-like procedure and is healthy again. He also just bought a Breezer Townie so he could get into better shape.

Great fun!

ugggh.

this movember is the first one that has hit home for me, and, although it's not my own diagnosis, it is the closest one has been. my father in-law came last weekend to let us know of his colon cancer diagnosis. he is not generally a healthy gentleman, with extreme obesity and subsequent diabetes, etc., but there's always something sickening about the word 'cancer', especially when uttered by the people we love. anyway, i'm growing the 'stache. i'm hoping for the best. i took myself out for some hill repeats today and remembered why i love bikes outside of my daily commute. we are lucky to be alive. hope you all have great movembers.

nick.

So do you have to start clean shaven for this? I've had my beard for 2 years and can't imagine not having any hair on my face for a bit.
