New road rims suggestions

I’m looking at replacing my H plus Son Archetype Rims this winter as the braking surface is getting pretty concave.

I was looking at a new set of either the same rim or a slight upgrade. I race occasionally and do lots of club rides and also have a 34ish mi round trip commute, so these hoops will def get some use.

Someone suggested Hunt rims, never really heard much about them, but curious if anyone has?

24x28h on WI T11s 163lb rider.

Thanks!

HED Belgium C2's are dandy but pricey. Some like DT Swiss but the set I had damaged easily (dings and dents) compared to other rims I've used.

I’m a big fan of Kinlin rims. I’ve built up eight Kinlin XR-26T and XR-31T rims in the past year with excellent results.

Yes, but excellent. Dimensions-wise they are about half way between the HED offerings, with identical quality (made in same factory). Plus the decals peel off easily and cleanly so they look very stealthy and slick.

Second this, specifically the XR-31T. Doesn't fare too much worse compared to Zipp 303 (aero data from November bikes)

run DT rims with 240 hubs at about 170 pounds. No issues in lots of miles.

honestly, from my perspective of having built a few wheels: the archetype is still a good answer for the OP. it's my experience that the Archetype has a little more meat in the brake track than the HED rim, and costs roughly half.

i personally think the archetype is an excellent value rim and would not hesitate to recommend it, especially for reasonably severe/robust duty.

the only real increase you are likely to see in rim longevity is to go to a ceramic coated rim (or whatever fancy coating you call it), but those rims now quadruple the price of the h+ rim and wont net you 4x the life, and you'd need to buy fancy pants brake pads.

OP seems to like the idea of replacing a rim rather than a wheelset after the manufacturer decides to not support that 'wheelouttabox' with rims and/or spokes...si?
