I don't have a photo to show for it, but I recall once when living in Switzerland that I was out MTBing in the Alps (cant remember where).

It was not technical riding at all, but I was pedalling way high up in an Alpine area and stopped to admire the scenery - I was buried amidst wildflowers on a two foot wide trail with green groundcover, the sound of cowbells (not for CX - the REAL thing!) and towering snowcapped mountains in the distance. The weather was cool (high up) but I was sweaty (hard work) so the temperature was just perfect.

It was one of the few times that I have been riding in a surreally beautiful landscape - the kind that you would see on the cover of a mountain bike magazine in the 1990s.

I actually think I love MTBing more now, but most of my rides these days are within an hour from home and involve parking in a parking lot and pedalling through dark, muddy forests (that are really fun, but not nearly as picturesque)!

I like all kinds of pie and would gladly partake of your sour cherry, but pecan is #1 for me.
