I think the Buick is more like other (it is an Opel at heart) European wagons than a Subie. I haven't driven a Subie with a six-cylinder engine but the 4-banger in the Outback I drove are just a little under-powered for me and the boy-racer turbo Subies are too harsh. My sister and a couple of her adult kids love their Subies and since they spend a lot of time at their second home near Lake Tahoe they actually use the AWD which is kind of wasted here in San Diego.
