For Titanium:

Forget that Walmart stigma, that Viathon seems like a fine choice.

Santa Cruz Stigmata- either the new more gravel version or the previous version.

If you're considering carbon and the geo suits, I'd look at the Fuji Jari 1.1 when its released.
Pretty good spec for $3k. |

I recently picked up a 2019 Specialized Diverge - and may be thinning the herd as a result.

I've had an Orbea Terra for almost a year. Highly recommend.

Picked up a Jake the Snake last December as a beater bike, become my main bike for most of my rides, loads of fun.

Started with a brushed sale Frame for $1250.00 and went from there. But I do my own wrenching. And my own vinyl art and clear coat. Left over steel fork by Carl Strong. Both 650b and 700 wheels. |

They're about $600 for the frameset (+/- $100). I don't remember if that included paint, but it wouldn't be much on top of that if anything. If you're interested, there's a huge thread over on the RidingGravel forums discussing how to order, issues, builds, etc.

If production carbon I would look for a Stigmata. They are super nice and versatile as well, but not sure on the clearance of the new model. Mine was a 2017 and an excellent bike, but only has clearance for a 40mm 700c if I'm recalling correctly.

https://bikerumor.com/2019/05/14/all...weights-video/ Personally I can recommend the Trek Checkpoint. The SL5 is in your price range with 105, or for a little more the SL6 with Ultegra - lots of clearance and full Shimano groupsets. The bad is BB90 and a seatmast (so no drooper post) - The Isospeed is the real deal (it's the reason for no drooper) smooths out washboards like nobody's business. Also there is a Trek sale this weekend, so the SL6 just might slip down into your price range, check your local retailer. |
