*In* Garage?
I store mine right out front. Much more convenient...
No, seriously...before we moved, I kept a couple of bikes in the garage, overflow from the finished basement. They were cable locked to an eyelet buried in a ceiling joist. No, this would not have stopped a determined thief; instead it was to deter a casual one if the garage door was left open. And this was in a relatively safe neighborhood. Now that we've moved, and I've got a dedicated workshop, all of the bikes are either in the workshop or elsewhere in the basement. Three kayaks are now stored in the garage, up against the ceiling using homemade hoists. Takes about 5 minutes to get one down from the hoist on to the kayak rack...and then it's an 8 minute walk to the kettle pond.

Our small (by comparison to many members here) collection of 6 have a room of their own in the house. One of many advantages of not having children.

The "good" bikes are in the finished basement. The ones that get dirty (cross, gravel) stay in the garage since I don't throughly clean them after each ride. We are not in an area where theft would be a problem

I keep my “fancy to me” bike in the garage during the outdoor riding months and in the basement on trainer when the weather is not so good.

All bikes are kept in a clean dry basement. Walk up to garage access, so no need to go through living areas.
Previous house had access from basement to outside as well. Bike storage and access was considered in purchase but was not a priority. I got lucky. |

I believe bikes should be treated like chldren.
When you make them live in the garage, or in a shed, or hang on the back of your vehicle at 70mph, they tend to get upset, unruly, and otherwise irritating. Best to keep them inside and warm & out of trouble. |

In the garage but it’s a nice garage. We have no basement so it’s my one reasonable option. There are windows but the garage doors are 9 feet tall so looking in would be an interesting feat.
It’s also where the trainer and trainer tv lives. |
