Asheville NC residents

I have applied to a few jobs in Asheville and would like to know the mobs opinion on where to live. price range for housing no more than 450. schools are not a requirement anymore. I would like the commute to be less than 40 minutes close to shopping and amenities and must have bike route access from the house.
Im currently looking at Hendersonville/Fletcher/ and Weaverville.

Thanks

Hi
My kids have a home in Weaverville it’s about 12 miles off of the Blue Rige park way.
I’m down a few weeks a year.
The riding is good but I’m spoiled from we’re I live.
Roads are narrow and very congested around town.
Out of town it’s great most drivers are respectful but every other house has dog
That will come out. Get sprint training if you’re young.
I’m retired in a few years maybe I can get some better loops.
When looking for a house get a good inspection there not built like up North!
Many weeks doing repairs for ****ty workmanship.

If you're working downtown, I don't think 40 minutes from Hendersonville is possible. it's pushing 40 minutes not during rush hour.

I 26 is being widened for the next years expect daily traffic jams.
Waynesville is much better for cycling access imo.

Black Mountain or Brevard maybe?

Should have bought years ago when I started visiting. We are still considering the outskirts for retirement. May just continue for vacation. We'll see...

In the 30 years I've been going... it has changed a lot! Not sure I'd want to live right in/close to town any more. Still, very cool, fun and beautiful!

I'm originally from Morganton, NC. A nice little town about an hour E from Asheville on I 40. They are very excited to get the above Asheville to Morganton trail....70 miles long. Believe it's dirt. I would go back if my situation was different. Really like the area.
