It's available on Netflix US today. Make sure to change to English subtitles - it defaulted to Spanish for me.

I stumbled across this while browsing Netflix. There are incredible images up close to the race action, behind the scenes, and just beautiful scenery. In the first episodes of so they allude to the leader conflict, I wonder how far they'll get into it. It's yesterday's news and there's a bit of product placement but heck it's pro racing.

I watched all 6 episodes on Saturday. I thought it was really good. Gave you a good feel for the Movistar team. Came away liking Nairo and Carapaz. I can see why Quintana left. What a disfunctional relationship. I thought the team's GM, Eusebio Unzue, was quite interesting. Old old old school (he has had the team for 40 years). Amazing how he has been able to win a few grand tours recently.
And Valverde really needs to shave his head.

I’m only past the first episode. Beautiful photography, excellent cinematography. But I’m having a hard time following it as it seems to jump all over the place. I’m pretty well versed on Moviestar and the drama of last year’s season, but I wonder if the casual cycling fan would be able to understand and follow along?

All told, I found The Least Expected Day to be well worth my time. It’s not perfect, but it’s compelling and enlightening at the same time. The Grand Tours served up a healthy dose of entertainment in 2019 and perhaps no team brought as much of its own additional drama to the table as Movistar. Since I won’t be watching any big live (outdoor) races in the near future, I was glad to have a chance to see the ample action from last year again in a new light.
