How do you enjoy your St. Patrick’s Day?

True
I ate Mexican food from Frida's while watching Chinese Kungfu movies on the El Rey channel.
Then watched part of a dull NASCAR race,, ugh. I'm watching BBC now about Brexit. I'm a worldly person even while sitting on my couch. |

LOL wow, I wonder what exactly they use to color the water or is that a Photoshop trick?
I have red hair and a very Irish sounding name but I never wear green on St Pats day nor celebrate it. Call me a rebel if you must My family always celebrated. I spent most of my youth on holidays like this at the local Hibernian hall. It was a lot of fun as a kid but at the same time it drove me nuts too. I do like Guinness but at my local bottle shop they had this really good stout on sale called Innis & Gunn for a buck a beer. I'm having one of those now in celebration of riding my bike 75 miles today after a long dormant winter. Sláinte. |

The tradition of dyeing the river green arose by accident when plumbers used fluorescein dye to trace sources of illegal pollution discharges. The dyeing of the river is still sponsored by the local plumbers union. ... The parade committee has since switched to a mix involving forty pounds of powdered vegetable dye. I miss the days we would ski @ Brodie Mt. in New Ashford, MA.(Kelly's Irish Alps)
They would make green snow in front of the main lodge for the occasion of St Patrick's Day. Apres ski would be upstairs in the Blarney Room. It was quite the party every year till the wee hours of the morning. Kelly's sold it in 1999 and it trickled on for a few more years and then it was gone. |

I had a couple of bottles of Guinness while piddling around with stuff in the shop that I bought on the local farm auction yesterday. Piddling may continue for weeks or months as the situation requires, but progress could be limited if Guinness supply is compromised. Curse on the bean counters who came up with the 11.2 oz bottle. A pint is traditional and I'd buy it more often in that container.

Worked on bikes in the morning. Went for a ride in the afternoon. Not a big reveler.

my thought too, this is some weird human bravado thing, to dye an entire river. and no, im probably not considered fun at parties if this is the metric.
