Garmin Edge Battery Replacement

Anyone here change their Garmin Edge's battery?
Looking for additional source for a battery.
I've found this on Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...KAX0W42K&psc=1

I bought a replacement battery for my Edge 705 from that vendor (through Amazon). Replacement was very easy and the new battery has more capacity than the OEM battery. No problems so far after nearly two years of use.

Thanks.
Good to hear 1st hand experiences here.
My battery has been draining quickly recently and I think I'll need to replace it in the spring.

The 705 is easy to replace. Most Battery+ have it in stock. You need a tiny Torx bit. I used this cheap set, good for other small screws, too. You can never have too many tools

Made a battery change in the Edge 800. Easy and wished Iā€™d done it sooner.
Had bought the 1030. Nice unit for sure. So now have the 800 as a loaner.

Battery is really inexpensive.

I just checked out the video for the Edge 820 (newpower99 website).
A bit complicated as you access by first removing the screen (glued down, no screws), then remove the circuit board (4 screws), then have to cut the wires to the speaker (part of the battery connection), solder to new battery wires, then install battery.

Just changed the battery out of my 8-year-old Garmin 800 as it typically lasted only 3.5 hrs these days.

Ordered the battery here:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/40108619306...RK:MESINDXX:IT

Watched the video here:

Get to work! :

Challenges:
The hardest part is getting the little connectors in and out, but the demo video did a good job showing their orientation and how it's done, so pay attention.

Any soldering required or is it basically unscrew, attach, and reassemble?

No soldering required for the 705. A small torx screwdriver was included with the battery. Very fast and easy replacement!

Yeah, the 800 wasn't bad at all. The hardest part was getting that connector back on.
