More Salt than snow in NYC

Got back from a couple of loops in CP and am shocked at how much salt NYC put down on the streets and west side path. We have no accumulation of snow but about 1/2 inch of salt. I almost spent as much time cleaning my bike than riding it. This is when apartment living sucks.

Thank the Cargill (Upstate NY state salt mines among other things) lobbyists for the beautiful winter whitewash. Crap eats cars and pollutes streams and aquifers, Cargill sucks. Rant over, nice bike BTW...

My family laughs at my constant bitching about salt. If we have 2 minutes of precipitation around here they dump truckloads of salt all over the roads.

the salt is no good it destroys everything. I even attribute it to eroding the asphalt of the road
